WHO IS ELIGIBLE
Acupuncture can be done on people of all ages ranging from small children to the elderly. As it is only balancing the body’s immunity and repairing functions, even people with most of problematic ailments are able to benefit from acupuncture treatment.
How does acupuncture work?
Acupuncture promotes Qi, or flow of life energy in the body. By unblocking the stagnation of energy, it helps the body to heal itself.
From a scientific perspective, here are Five Basic Theories:
“ Augmentation of Immunity” - Acupuncture raises levels of specific hormones like prostaglandins, white blood cells counts and overall anti-body levels.
“Endorphin” Theory – Acupuncture stimulates the secretions of endorphins in the body
“Neurotransmitter” Theory – Acupuncture affects the levels of certain neurotransmitters such as Serotonin and Noradrenalin.
“Circulatory” Theory – Acupuncture has the effect of constricting or dilating blood vessels. This may be caused by the body’s release of Vasodilator, such as Histamine, in response to Acupuncture.
“Gate Control” Theory – Acupuncture closes certain nerve gates by strategically overloading them with impulses, thus reducing pain transmission.
What CAN i EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT?
For acute conditions, patients may get instant relieve after treatment. For chronic conditions, it may take more sessions. Acupuncture is a process aiming to resolve root causes rather than symptoms.,
